  • Washington Monument - Built to honor George Washington, the commander-in-chief of the Continental Army and the first President of the United States, the Washington Monument was once the tallest building in the world at just over 555 feet. • National Archives Museum - Home to the original Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights, the National Archives holds more than 15 billion records. Visit our newest exhibit Rightfully Hers: American Women and the Vote in the Lawrence F. O'Brien Gallery.
